Understanding payment status and loan records

A payment moves through several steps. The wording shown in a portal should help borrowers and servicing teams understand what has happened and what is still pending.

Authorization records the instruction.

When a borrower authorizes a payment, they approve the amount and the terms presented for that transaction. Authorization does not by itself confirm that funds have settled.

Processing describes work still underway.

A processing state can indicate that the payment provider is handling the transaction. Timing and available methods depend on the provider and the organization’s approved setup. Follow the status shown for the payment instead of assuming completion from the initial submission.

Loan posting describes the servicing record.

A recorded transaction and its allocation explain how an amount appears in the loan history. The platform’s posting rules and the payment provider’s settlement process are related, but they are not the same event. Ask your servicing team if you need to understand a particular entry.

Returns and reversals can change the outcome.

A later return or reversal may require an update to the servicing record. The provider’s procedures and the approved arrangement determine how the payment issue is handled. Your lender or servicer can explain the effect on your balance or payment obligation.

Review fees separately.

An applicable Online Payment Service Fee is separate from the amount paid toward the loan. Review the loan-payment amount, fee, and total before authorizing.

Know whom to contact.

Ask your lender or servicer about account balances, payment obligations, or payoff amounts. Contact Roboloan support for a technical issue with the platform and include the transaction reference when available. Do not send full bank or card details.
